NW Grading 10th December 2011

Hi guys and girls,

Not long now until the grading, hope all the training and preparation is going to plan and you’re instructors are giving you a work out! (Should have been to Lancon last night!)

The grading is at Lancon on Saturday 10th December, it will start promptly at 12noon, so everyone needs to be there no later than 11:30.

To help celebrate after the grading we will be going to the Adelphi pub, we’ve got the upstairs room booked from 19:30. The Uni exec have been able to arrange Christmas dinners from £6, with a private bar and some drink offers, so it will be an awesome night to remember!

BRING IT ON!!!

Jitsu Xmas do!!!!!!

OK guys, get your party hats on and get ready for a festive and fun night at Revolution on 2nd December.

There will be food, drink and games.

Don’t forget to bring your secret santa gift (about £5) to put in the bag. If you put a prezzie in the bag you will get a ticket to draw out a gift to take home. Remember people, we are all adults so let your imagination (and possibly your wicked side) run wild.

We will be holding a raffle for a charity, yet to be decided upon, which will cost £1 per strip. Prize to be announced on the night.

The night won’t be complete without the annual Jitsu Awards. The categories are:

  1. The Brass Balls Award – for doing something completely brave (or foolish),
  2. The Richard Cranium Award – for being dumber than the average dust mite,
  3. The Black Knight Award – for that person who should give training a rest, but is simply too stubborn (stupid) to give in.
  4. The Golden Gum-shield – for that person who just loves to eat fist.
  5. The Newcomer of the Year award – for that person who started training this year and has shown an amazing enthusiasm for Jitsu

We do have some nominations for these awards already but we need more, so please think about what has happened over the last year and nominate people who have done things that fit into the above descriptions. Please send nominations to prestonjnrjitsu@aol.com by 27 November.

In a change to our goal of uniting the clubs, for one night only we will be pitting the clubs against each other in a series of bar games and a quiz – the prize; bragging rights for the next year.

See you there,

Instructors and Committee Members

Instructor and Club Instructor Course – 19th November

The NW will be hosting an instructor and club instructor course on the 19th November at the Sugden Sports centre in Manchester. At this time we will not be running an assistant instructor course, but one will be arranged in the new year.

Below is the requirement for the TJF instructor courses:

Assistant Instructor (AI) is required for Purple belt,
Instructor (I) is required for Light-Blue belt,
Club Instructor is required for Brown belt.

Lee Baker will be running this course, it’s a “hands-on” course involving principles and guidelines on teaching with practice, feedback and with plenty of training. As mentioned above, completing the instructor course is need for those going for light-blue, so this course is open to green belts and purple belts, but only the green belts who have previously completed the AI course.

Time: Saturday 19th November, 12noon – 5:15pm
Cost: £10
Lead Instructor: Lee Baker

Location:
Sugden Sports centre
114 Grosvenor Street
Manchester

Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre: Grand Opening – Jitsu Demo

Our new sports centre is having it’s grand opening on Thursday 3rd November, even though we’ve been training there for the last 5 weeks. I have been asked by the Manager of our new Sports Centre to put on a Jitsu demo during the afternoon between 2pm and 5pm.

This is where I need to know who can make this demo session. I know this is during the day and some of you will have lessons, so I do not mind if you can only make some of the demo, so please come along to what you can make. If you can make it please “like” this link.

Don’t forget that our normal Thursday session will be on 6 – 8pm after this, so an hours break.

Thanks,
Steve
