Juniors

Junior Jitsu is:

  • Fun
  • Energetic
  • Inspiring
  • Challenging
  • Rewarding

Here at Preston Junior Jitsu Club we put a lot of emphasis on having fun whilst learning some valuable skills. As well as the obvious benefits of learning Jitsu (self defence); we passionately believe the students learn a whole load more.

Discipline

A child will learn the importance of discipline and respect for others and oneself. They will learn how to respect the rules of the Dojo (training room) – such as no swearing, spitting or teasing.

Help encourage Physical Fitness

Jitsu, by its very nature, is physical which can help improve cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, balance, strength and overall energy levels.

Overcome Bullying

Learning to be more confident and have more courage to overcome bullying issues is another major benefit of Jitsu. The child learns how to become less of a victim. The child will be taught self defence movements but must first learn to handle conflict. The child will learn personal responsibility, avoidance and respect for others as well as their own power. There level of self esteem and confidence will also increase.

Life Skills

Jitsu helps children to interact with others and to take responsibility. They will be asked to help and teach others. Jitsu can enhance their communication skills. They become more engaged and focussed on goal setting since they have to learn to pass regular gradings and attend national courses and competitions.

Challenging themselves
Twice a year we take the childrenĀ  to national competitions where they compete against other children from Jitsu clubs around the country. This is a great way to meat new people and form friendships over time as they progress through the grades and see the same faces time after time. It also allows them to assess their own progress against children from other clubs. Historically we do very well in these competitions, with the majority of our students coming pack with trophies.

Child safety

We take the safety of the children in our care very seriously, all of the instructors, and assistants, who interact with our students have an enhanced CRB check. We also adhere strictly to the Jitsu Foundations child protection policy and procedures.
We have a full constitution that can be viewed upon request which details all of the health and safety procedures and requirements as well as other important club policies.
