The next North Best regional is not far away and it’s going to be even better that the last one! – I hear you ask “can it get any better than that?”, well my friend the answer is “Oh YES it can!”.

It will be hosted at UCLan’s Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre and will be lead by Sensei Richard Goulding on Saturday 28th April, 12-4pm.

For all who haven’t heard the news, I will be leaving the North West for the sunnier climates of Bath. I’ll be leaving on the weekend 5th and 6th May, but will be up for most of the Green+ and BaD sessions over the next couple of months. Therefore this will be my last Regional in the NW and as ReCo, so this regional will be a bit of a leaving session for me as well, and will be closely followed by a few drinks in the Guild.

*IMPORTANT* :: The UCLan Sports Centre is not used to having external people/student visit and they have asked for a list of all attendees beforehand. To make it easy for me to collect this info can I ask all instructors to register all attendees on the Jitsu Foundations website before 25th April (using the same method as entering people into the nationals). e.g. Login -> Entrants -> Select Club -> Event Date “20/04/12″ -> Event name “NW Summer Regional” -> Select your students (hold down “CTRL” to select multiple students) -> then click Add. You will not get a list of everyone attending in a nice display below, instead everyone attending will have an asterix next to their name. Gareth will then be sending me an attendance sheet on the 26th April.

Aim to arrive at 12noon so that we can commence the course at 12:30. Following the course we will be opening up the regular green+ session to oranges and above. The cost for those attending the CA and Orange+ session will be £10 and those just coming to the Orange+ session will be £5.

In preparation for the course, attached are some course guidelines which were developed by James Garvey in London.

Below is the requirement for the TJF instructor courses:

• Club Assistant (CA) is required for Purple belt,
• Instructor (I) is required for Light-Blue belt,
• Club Instructor (CI) is required for Brown belt.

Hope everyone had a good new year and Christmas…. so now to start training again to burn off those Christmas dinners

First session back is for the Town club on Tuesday 3rd January, Lancon starts again on Wednesday 4th January, and UCLan starts again on Tuesday 10th January.

There’s not long to train up for the next Jitsu Nationals as the Judo Nationals are just around the corner, 19th and 20th February (see noticeboard), ask your instructor for more information about this.
